A quick look at an enigmatic phenomenon -- no, not GRR Martin per se -- it's about something else that he represents

In this post we're exploring a hidden feature of Western world culture: the fat guy cap.

What, then, say we of this...?

We say: this is a complete enigma...!

However, if an analysis is to be made, we hold:

If you're a white male above some level of age, and weight, you need something to top it all off. You need to crown that pompous, pretentious, slighty unsavory figure with a pertinent garment.

And what better item to symbolize this than the fat guy cap.

I can only stand aside, present the evidence, and let you marvel at the sight.

In the top pic we have GRR Martin, author of nihilist nonsense. OK, he isn't a woke street-preacher lecturing you, he's a story-teller. But he's totally irrelevant in today's reality.

The same goes for Gene Wolfe in the next pic (see below). He too writes nihilist nonsense in fictional form, essentially empty middle-brow novels -- not wholly unlikable as such, this is FANTASY, but Wolfe has nothing to add to the spiritual world-view we need now.

Finally we have Homer Simpson. Who never pretended to be anything at all. He simply is a fat guy in a fat guy cap -- end of story.
